Finna stad is a book about the interplay between art, place, and people. Drawing on a range of projects, artists Tone Einelia and Petra Rahm show how art can be a driving force in place development and contribute to more open and democratic processes.

The book builds on several years of collaboration with municipalities, architects, businesses, and local communities, exploring how good processes can be created across disciplines and interests. In the meeting between different stakeholders, new perspectives and solutions can emerge. In a voice that is both personal and professional, the authors address questions of place, identity, empathy, and collaboration.

The publication is divided into two parts: an example section with concrete projects, and a method section that reflects on the role of art in place development and offers practical entry points for how such work can be carried out. The book can be read from either side, inviting the reader to choose their own way into the material through either the examples or the method.

This is a book for artists, planners, and everyone working with place and community. It functions as both inspiration and handbook, pointing to how art can broaden our understanding of place development and help shape the places of the future.
